Sustainability
This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Palm Beach Resort, Pedra Badejo, Cape Verde does its best to perform its business with respect for the environment. That is why many sustainability projects have been implemented. For example, a well was recently constructed that enables us to use the resources of subsoil waters. It is our understanding that water and electricity are the resources especially precious in Cape Verde; therefore, with informative leaflets that can be found in every room, we encourage the guests of Palm Beach to be conscious of energy use, and we propose ideas on how to save energy.
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
It is our duty and pleasure to work for the development of the local community. Our hotel has already hosted cultural and educational events in the past and we are always ready to support local initiatives in our facilities. One of the shareholders of the hotel is the patron of the local primary school and we are proud that many of our employees volunteer actively with the local community and participate in environmental and educational projects.
